Cast Your Net Wide
This piece was made for an exhibition curated by Helen Maxwell called Fequent Fliers.
I love watching Pied Oyster Catchers on the shore line, carefully serveying every move you make and always looking like they're up to something.
Our shorebirds are in danger of disappearing. We are encroaching on their migration routes and destroying their habitats. This is a plea to cast your net of thought wider, to think about the ripples of effect you have on the environment.
I also love a good word pun. This is a comment on the nature of an Oyster Catcher and it's fishing habits.
