Workshops
Laissez-faire Linocut
The relief print…….carve out some time for yourself.
Students will develop and print lino plates using diverse cutting techniques and experimental mark making.
Lino is great for the minimalist and first time printmaker, a lot can be achieved with very little.
Intro to Intaglio: Drypoint
Scratch about in the burr-illiant art of intaglio printmaking!
Students will create drypoint prints using plastic plates and recycled tetrapaks. We’ll explore different tools for mark making and incorporate collage elements.
Monotype, the Painterly Print
Explore colour, form and texture through additive monotype, a technique where ink and paint are applied to a plate to create a unique print.
Perfect for painters and people who love mark making.
Monotype @ Unique State, Wagga Wagga
Learn to embrace the serendipity of printmaking with Julie Mia Holmes through this weekend workshop. Over two days participants will explore the experimental and happy accidents of monotype, drawing and chine collé.
Participants will explore drawing, colour, collage and experimental play, and learn how to make direct contact monotypes onto Japanese papers which will be then hand coloured using coloured pencil, pigments and glue. Collage elements may be explored as the Japanese papers are adhered to heavier, cotton rag printmaking papers for backing.
